Many people don’t think about doing photos at the stage when baby first learns to sit but if you missed out on newborn photos or if you just want to record milestone’s this is a great time to do photos, if you already had newborn photos with me then discounts apply.
I love the stage where babies are learning to sit (although this little man was just passed that). In these sessions babies are wide awake and usually the smallest of silly things make them smile, you can really start to see their personalities and because they are just sitting they can’t run away from you!
Here’s a few tips about booking your session:
– Make sure to book around 6-7 months. Once a baby starts crawling it becomes a little harder to get them to sit still because they have now moved on and want to explore!
– Sitting sessions generally only go for about 30 minutes. They are short because that’s about as long as a baby will tolerate. So before the session we do need to have a good idea of the kinds of photos you would like. I generally have different setups ready, even if we don’t use them all.
– Having a photography session is often a new experience for a baby, so having too many people around can be very overwhelming.
– It is best to allow the photographer to try and get the babies attention, if they need help they will ask you as some babies may only respond to their parents.
